Worst Dressed Stars of All-Time At the Emmys
As you may know, the Emmys are airing this Sunday on NBC. This is one of my favorite nights on television because it gives the world a chance to recognize and applaud the best the little screen has to offer. Besides this, obviously, it is also a night to watch actors and actresses get dolled up in one-of-a-kind fashion. While some are real hits, others are clear misses. Who are some of the worst dressed stars the Emmy red carpet has ever seen? Keep reading!
For starters, there was Playboy model Tess Smith, who showed up to the 2005 Emmys in a sheet gown that showed off way too much skin. I mean, if there was a huge gust of wind blowing by, she might have exposed more than just her belly ring hanging out. Then, there was also Barbara Streisand the year before who rolled up to the red carpet with a velvety pink cloak. She had more carpet on her than should ever be allowed at an award show.
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, right? Well, that must be why Paula Abdul decided to show up to the 2013 Emmys in a gold dress that covered her from head-to-toe. She literally could have passed for a replica of the coveted trophy. Well, as bad as Abdul’s ensemble was, Phoebe Price’s was worse. This star was at the 2008 Emmys in a gown reminiscent of one of those flapper costumes you’d see at a Halloween party. The dress was red and sheer and way too sexy for such a special and classy occasion.
This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Cyndi Lauper. Lauper has always been known for her outlandish ’80s outfits, which is fine, but that doesn’t work when you’re at the Emmys and it’s the 90s. One year she wore this back and gold outfit to Hollywood’s big night, with matching black and yellow hair. It was really something else to say the least.
What is your least favorite outfit to ever grace the red carpet at the Emmys? Fill me in!
