Taylor Swift vs. Katy Perry
Oh man! It looks like two of the pop world’s ruling divas have major beef with one another. Okay, maybe, no one really knows for sure, but all signs are pointing yes. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Taylor Swift talked about how one of her songs was written about another famous superstar who just was plain mean to her. The “Shake It Off” singer didn’t give any names (Of course! Typical Taylor!), but she did say that the inspiration for the song “Bad Blood” was about someone she once believed was a friend but was clearly a frenemy. “Bad Blood” will appear on her new album, 1989, which is scheduled to come out next month.
In the interview, Swift remarked, “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ Then last year, the other star crossed a line. She did something so horrible, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. I’m surprisingly non-confrontational—you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
Obviously the world was buzzing over who Swift could possibly be talking about. Was it Selena Gomez? Maybe it was Demi Lovato? What about Karli Kross? Well, it’s pretty obvious that she was indeed chatting about Katy Perry. That’s okay, though. It doesn’t seem like this phased the “Teenage Dream” singer at all. She obviously got wind of what Swift was saying and decided to take to Twitter to give her two cents. Perry tweeted, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…” Swift has yet to comment on Perry’s tweet.
Whose side do you take on this one? I’m torn!
