In the interview, Armstrong revealed, “I spent the early part of my life trying to become someone that I wasn’t and I think a lot of it has to do with the shame and the guilt and all of the things I was carrying from my past.” As you may remember, during her time on The Real Housewives of Bevery Hills, the native Oklahoman was an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. On the show, she openly discussed her experience with abuse both before and during the show. Then, Armstrong further went on to say that she used plastic surgery as a way to mask the pain she was dealing with. She said, “I got new lips and new breasts and changed my hair, changed my name. It was anything I could do to try to become someone else.”

This is definitely one side to plastic surgery. I don’t know about you, but when I think of plastic surgery, I look at it as a way for one to enhance their appearance. That’s it, nothing more. A lot of times I don’t focus on the whole psychological aspect of plastic surgery. Many individuals turn to plastic surgery because they’re not only unhappy with the way they look but also their self as a whole. If plastic surgery was able to change Armstrong’s outlook on life, then all the more power to her. What do you think of plastic surgery? Do you simply look at it for what it is or do you see so much more than that?
