Shia LaBeouf Arrested in New York City
Oh no! It seems that I have yet another story of a child star gone wild to discuss with you all. This time around, though, it is Shia LaBeouf. Remember when he played Louis Stevens on the popular Disney Channel series, “Even Stevens”? He was so sweet and innocent then, but now? Not so much. So what exactly happened to LaBeouf? Well, last week Shia LaBeouf got arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and harassment at the Broadway show “Cabaret”.
According to police, when security guards asked the former “Transformers” actor to leave the Studio 54 theater, because he was behaving disruptively throughout Act 1, he refused. Then, he went on to yell obscenities and even physically interfered with the employees working at the time. LaBeouf had to be physically escorted out of the theater during the intermission. Police went on to say that he made both aggressive statements and threats to the the security guards and police officers. To officers, the 28-year-old seemed either intoxicated or under the influence of some type of drug.
This is not the first time LaBeouf has been arrested. In 2008, he was taken to jail on the suspicion of drunken driving, after another driver crashed into his car in West Hollywood, California. However, he was later let go because prosecutors found that there was not enough evidence to make a formal charge against the actor. LaBeouf was also arrested in 2007 when he would not leave a downtown Chicago drugstore. Store officials went on to drop the case, though, because they did not want to pursue it any further.
What are your thoughts on what is happening with LaBeouf? Do you think he is really a troubled star or maybe he’s trying to bring some publicity back into his career? In my opinion, he needs serious help. There was a time when LaBeaouf was one of my favorite actors, but now it seems like his life is spiraling downwards quickly, which is really depressing. He was and still is full of so much potential. Hopefully this is a wake-up call for LaBeouf and he can finally get his life back in order.
