Ladies, I’ve got super sad news to report. If any of you watch “Dancing with the Stars”, you’ll notice that once the new season starts up in September, there will be one less Chmerkovskiy hitting the dance floor. That’s right, Maksim Chmerkovskiy confirmed on “The View” yesterday that he will not be returning to the ABC reality competition show as one of the professional dancers.  However, that certainly does not mean he’s done with the show for good. On the talk show, Chmerkovskiy remarked, “I’m done dancing. I feel like it’s time.”

Of course the crowd went crazy showing their disapproval over his departure, prompting him to say that he didn’t want to do a “Lebron the announcement” moment, but instead just clear up the ‘is he or isn’t’ he rumors. He also made sure to make it clear that he “loved the experience.” Then, he later delved into more detail over why he’s leaving, commenting, “When I came back to the show, it was not the same…I was different, probably…When I came back, I saw this amazing talent, Val [Chmerkovskiy, his brother] included…I looked at it and thought they can do much more and better, I was taking up a huge spot.”

While Chmerkovskiy is calling it quits as a professional dancer, the “Dancing with the Stars” executive producer, Rob Wade, is making it clear that he definitely wants the fan favorite to return to the show in some capacity. He recently told E! News that, “I’m absolutely hoping Maks comes back to the show. I don’t know whether it’s going to be as a dancer. I think there’s a number of different things we can talk to him about and the way he’d be involved in the show. Maks will always be part of Dancing With the Stars in some way.”

Are you going to miss Chmerkovskiy when the series returns on September 15th? I know I sure will, but if he has to leave, it’s good to see him go out on tops. Remember, he just won “Dancing with the Stars” for the first time this past season with his Olympian partner, Meryl Davis.
