Why was Lark Voorhies Missing From The Saved by the Bell Reunion?

Jimmy Fallon is awesome. Do I need to say any more? Well, in case you missed “The Tonight Show” last night, you need to jump on YouTube as fast as possible and watch the “Saved by the Bell” reunion he put together. In it, he appeared alongside the likes of Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkeley and Dennis Haskins in the roles that made them famous in the first place. While this was the most amazing skit ever that completely broke the Internet, I couldn’t help but notice that Lark Voorhies and Dustin Diamond were missing.

I’m not too surprised Diamond wasn’t there. After all, he did just plead not guilty to stabbing a man back in December. He also played the part of producer in that television movie, “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story”, which didn’t go over too well with his old co-workers. Okay, so that’s obviously what was going on there with Diamond but why was Voorhies a no-show? According to an interview her publicist did with E! News, “Lark would have loved to be part of the Jimmy Fallon skit (as she is a big fan of the show), however due to an intense work schedule she was not available.”

I don’t know what to make of this statement. Voorhies has been pretty nonexistent in the public eye for years. The last time she was even spotted out was in September right after “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story” came out. That’s it. She hasn’t done much of anything else and yet, she’s busy? Something doesn’t add up. Why would you miss one of the biggest career boost opportunities? There’s been rumors that she has been dealing with mental health issues for years. Could that be the real reason?

Well, maybe she’ll have another chance at reprising her iconic role of Lisa Turtle. Gosselaar tweeted last night, “Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so happy you enjoyed tonight. Let’s do it again sometime. Good night.” One can only hope.
