Kim Kardashian Goes Platinum Blond
If there is one thing to be said about Kim Kardashian, it is that she loves switching up her look. Last week, the reality TV star debuted a new style when she showed up to Paris Fashion week with platinum blond hair. While she has yet to say why she made this drastic change, it’s not the first time Kardashian has opted for lighter hair. You may recall that last summer she went blond, although that didn’t last long. “It’s just a wig! Looks so real though right?” she said on Instagram.
It’s important to note, though, Kardashian has never dyed her hair this blond before. However, E! News is reporting that a source close to the star said, it’s “just for fun. She wanted a change.” Kardashian was spotted rocking this new look from the front row at the Balmain fashion show with her mom Kris and husband Kanye West. The last time Kardashian truly lightened her hair was back in September 2013. That was three months before she gave birth to North West. At the time, her colorist George Papanikolos said that Kanye “loved” the hair and that “he was a big cheerleader for her to go blond.” Kardashian kept the blond hair for a few months, to which Papanikolos commented, “She is constantly changing her look, so this is not going to be permanent, but I am sure we will have more great hair moments down the line.”
Kardashian turning her dark roots into platinum blond hair comes right after she opened up to People magazine about her laser hair removal. She said, “I have the hairiest forehead you could ever imagine, and I would always break out and get all cracky on my forehead just from all the hair that I had. So in high school, I would wax it off because there was just so much hair, and then I would laser it off a little bit. If you Google 2008 or 2007, I had the craziest, hairiest hairline, so I did laser it. Everyone would just Photoshop it every time I did a photo shoot [anyway]. I didn’t really change the shape, I just got rid of all the baby hairs.” Kardashian, sometimes things are better left unsaid.
