Katy Perry Fighting With Kim Kardashian
I’ve got another Kim Kardashian feud to report today (ANOTHER ONE? Yeah, I know) and this time around it involves Ms. Katy Perry. If you’re a fan of the “Teenage Dream” singer, you know that there has been a lot of controversy around her backup dancers for…well, their large booties. I’m not talking their natural figures, but Perry has her girls dressing up as mummies with giant padded butts, which has definitely been getting people talking. In fact, some people are even calling the costumes racist. Personally, I don’t know if I’d go that far. To me, it seems like just some fun get-ups to liven up her shows every night, but I digress.
When Perry was asked about this she commented, “As far as the mummy thing, I based it on plastic surgery.” She later went on to say, “Look at someone like Kim Kardashian or Ice-T’s wife, Coco. Those girls aren’t African-American. But it’s actually a representation of our culture wanting to be plastic, and that’s why there’s bandages and it’s mummies. I thought that would really correlate well together…It came from an honest place. If there was any inkling of anything bad, then it wouldn’t be there, because I’m very sensitive to people.” That’s not all Perry had to say about this matter. She then remarked, “I guess I’ll just stick to baseball and hot dogs, and that’s it. I know that’s a quote that’s gonna come f—k me in the ass, but can’t you appreciate a culture? I guess, like everybody has to stay in their lane? I don’t know.”
Hmm. To be honest, Perry has a good point here. Our society is so focused on plastic surgery, and looks in general, that people will do just about anything nowadays to achieve a body that simply isn’t realistic. I’ve got to say, though, it takes a strong woman to call out Kim Kardashian on her clearly fake behind. After all, this is what Kardashian is known for. Maybe that’s just another reason I like Perry. She’s never afraid to speak her mind.
