Jessica Simpson Ties the Knot to Eric Johnson
Congrats are in order for Jessica Simpson and football player, Eric Johnson. The two celebrities, who have been dating for over four years, finally tied the knot on Saturday night. As with any celebrity wedding, the nuptials took place at a beautiful location. In fact, it was held at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, which is located right in Santa Barbara County and California’s wine country. There were roughly 250 guests in attendance including the likes of stars like Jessica Alba, Simpson’s sister Ashlee, Topher Grace, and Johnson’s football buddy Tim Rattay. Most of the women that attended the wedding were seen in brightly-colored gowns in shades of gold, pink, champagne and turquoise, while the men were sporting black tuxedos and suits with either bow ties or black ties. Now that I got the details out of the way, let’s go down memory lane with how this couple first got together. As we all know by now Simpson was married once before to fellow singer, Nick Lachey. The two were married for three years, after starring in their own reality series on MTV titled “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica”, but divorced in 2005 citing “irreconcilable differences”. Like Simpson, Johnson was also previously married. Except for him, he tied the knot in 2005 to stylist Keri Johnson. Simpson and Johnson first met in 2010 at a friend’s birthday party and it was love ever since. Unfortunately, though, at the time Johnson was still legally married. Cut to a few months later and Johnson’s divorce finalizing, the two announced their engagement after only nine months of dating. Then, in May 2012, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson. In June 2013, the couple had yet another child, with Simpson giving birth to son Ace Knute Johnson.
It’s about time these two finally got married. Are you happy to see these two tie the knot? Do you still long for the days when Nick and Jessica were together like I do? Come on, “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” was priceless. Let me know what you’re thinking!
