Gone Girl Premiere: Red is in on the Red Carpet
Last Friday, as part of the 52nd New York Film Festival at the Alice Tully Hall in New York City, Gone Girl premiered with stars like Reese Witherspoon, Emily Ratajkowski and Casey Wilson gracing the red carpet. What did they all have in common? Well, the color red of course. Was there a memo that went out encouraging celebrities to rock this shade? It certainly seemed that way.
Let’s start with Witherspoon. This actress, who actually co-produces the new mystery thriller film, showed up to the premiere in a sleeveless, V-strap mid-length dress with a pencil skirt. She looked absolutely stunning. It was great seeing her in the spotlight again, as she’s been staying pretty low-key lately. Then, of course there was also Ratajkowski. This actress, who many know as one of the topless models in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video, plays Andie Fitzgerald in the movie. Ratajkowski rocked a red, off-the shoulder gown with a sweetheart neckline to the premiere. Last, but definitely not least, was Wilson. She stars in the film as Noelle Hawthorne, although she’s probably best recognized for her new role in NBC’s “Marry Me”. For her appearance on the red carpet, she was spotted in a bright red V-neck mid-calf sheath dress.
Out of all three dresses, I have to say that Ratajkowski was my favorite. She was able to bring a sexiness to the red carpet without showing too much skin. This is often a problem that many stars face, and yet Ratajkowski aced it. Of course, red wasn’t the only color that made an appearance at the Gone Girl premiere. Rosamund Pike, who plays Ben Affleck’s wife that goes missing in the film, wore a loose-fitting, black halter gown. It’s important to note that Pike is currently pregnant with her second child.
What do you think of the fashions worn at the Gone Girl red carpet in New York City? Do you have a favorite dress? Will you be seeing this film when it hits theaters on Friday?
