Glee Stars Twitter Accounts Hacked
“Glee” fans, have you heard about Chris Colfer and Lea Michele’s Twitters getting hacked recently? No? Well, let me fill you in on all the juicy details. Last week, both actors had false tweets posted from their social media accounts. It started with Colfer, whose Twitter account was hacked on Thursday. His hacked tweet read, “Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly.” Of course, when this tweet hit Twitter fans everywhere started going crazy. Can you imagine the hit Fox show without Kurt Hummel? After all, he is a “Glee” staple. Thankfully, right as the situation was going on, Colfer’s rep automatically denied the reports. Colfer had a good attitude about it all, too. The next day he took to Twitter to say, “Apparently I missed quite the INTERESTING day while aboard my flight. I’m just glad I wasn’t “killed by a fruit truck” again.”
However, as we mentioned earlier, Colfer was not the only cast member to have this sort of thing happen. Michele also had to deal with a hacker of her own, but for her the false tweet had nothing to do with “Glee”. Instead, the hacker wrote, “Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy.” Similar to what went down for Colfer, Michele’s rep denied the report right away and made sure the false tweet was taken down pronto. Then, Michele sent out a tweet joking about the whole ordeal by saying, ” I was HACKED! Guess @chriscolfer and I should have known better then to make our passwords the names of our cats:)”
Hmm. What do you think happened here? Do you believe that both Colfer and Michele had their Twitters hacked within a day of each other or do you feel this was some huge ploy from Fox to garner up some publicity for the show? I mean, it’s no secret that “Glee” has been slipping with their ratings, so it seems they would need something to happen to get people talking about the show again. Hmm, well your guess is as good as mine here.
