Cheryl Burke Leaves Dancing with the Stars
Are you a “Dancing with the Stars” fan? If so, you may notice one familiar face missing next season…and well, every season after that. Unfortunately, I’ve got to be the bearer of bad news and inform you all that Cheryl Burke is leaving the ABC reality competition series. This announcement comes right after finding out judge Len Goodman is leaving the show after next season.
Don’t worry, though. Burke doesn’t plan on dropping off into obscurity. In fact, she already has plans in the work. Burke will star on a new variety show for NBC. There is not much information out yet on what this new show will consist of since it’s still in the very early stages, but it will most likely be a competition reality series where Burke will perform. Since she will now be joining NBC, Burke will be reunited with the individual who gave her, her first television break. Yes, NBC’s Paul Talegdy is who we can thank for discovering and casting Burke on “Dancing with the Stars” roughly 10 years ago. Wow.
As far as what else Burke has in store for her future, she noted recently that she’d love to follow in Julianne Hough’s footsteps. In an interview with E! News Burke said, “This is my family. I’ve been a part of the show for the last decade. I started when I was 20, I’m 30 now. And if they would ask me to be a judge, I’d love to.” However, multiple sources at “Dancing with the Stars” have noted that after bringing Hough onto the judging panel last season, there are no plans to add another judge. However, with Goodman saying goodbye maybe the powers that be over at “Dancing with the Stars” will have a change of heart.
Are you sad to see Burke go? To be honest, I used to be an avid fan of this show and had to watch every season, but recently I find myself tuning into the results show just to see who gets eliminated. I guess I lost my interest in “Dancing with the Stars”. Anyone else feeling this way?
