Charlotte McKinney Fights Back From Dancing with the Stars Slam
Did you tune into Dancing with the Stars on Monday night? If so, you saw judge Bruno Tonioli take things a bit too far. While Tonioli is known for his controversial comments, this one was just plain uncalled for. While judging Carl’s Jr.’s spokesmodel Charlotte McKinney rumba routine, Tonioli made remarks that had absolutely nothing to do with her dancing. This was truly a low blow, resulting in the whole ballroom booing.
“Listen my darling, you’re never going to win the Nobel Prize for quantum physics, but you are easy on the eyes,” Tonioli said. This remark immediately earned his boos from the audience. Host Tom Bergeron quickly had McKinney’s back. He quickly retorted, “Neither are you.” YES!! You go, Bergeron.
At the time, McKinney didn’t have much to say. However, now that Tonioli’s work have really sunk in, she’s speaking out. McKinney told E! News’ Ali Fedotowsky backstage after her elimination that, “I just believe it was super uncalled for. Especially after last week with the bullying and talking about just being nice and I didn’t see where it came from. We weren’t talking about being smart or anything like that. So it was just uncalled for.”
McKinney made sure to clarify that even with Tonioli’s harsh words, he didn’t spoil the experience she had on the reality competition show. She said, “I’m thrilled with this journey. It’s been amazing.” Personally, I’m so glad that McKinney didn’t just brush off what Tonioli said. There was no reason to insult her intelligence. Remember, this is a show about dancing, not about the way she looks. Plus, he’s insinuating that someone as beautiful and curvy as McKinney surely can’t be smart too. While he may have thought that would be funny, it certainly wasn’t.
What are your thoughts on this whole fiasco? Do you think people are overreacting to what Tonioli said or does he deserve the backlash? Let me know.
