Bruce Jenner Involved in Fatal Crash
Bruce Jenner has been all over the news lately for his decision to transition into a woman, but now he’s being talked about for a more serious reason. On Saturday, Jenner was involved in a four-vehicle pileup that resulted in one death. Seven other people, including an infant, suffered minor to moderate injuries from the crash. Five of these individuals had to be hospitalized. The accident took place in the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, only a few miles away from Jenner’s house.
A spokesperson for the police told NBC Los Angeles that Jenner wasn’t hurt in the crash but that he did receive some medical attention right after as a precaution. Jenner has yet to comment on the accident himself. Right now, police are investigating the cause of the deadly accident. However, the police did note that Jenner is being cooperative throughout all this. He even underwent a DUI exam at the scene and had blood and alcohol tests done at the hospital. The results have not been released yet.
Apparently Jenner’s navy blue SUV, which was hauling a dune buggy, hit a Lexus sedan. The woman driving the Lexus sedan was behind a Prius and when her car got hit, it spun into the opposite lane and hit a Hummer head on. At the time, traffic was moving slowly on their side of the highway. Following the accident, both sides of the highway were closed.
At first when the accident occurred, there were rumors that Jenner was being chased by the paparazzi which caused the crash. However, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Lecrivain put an end to that speculation. He said, “As of right now, there is no indication that Bruce Jenner was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the crash. There was a possibility that paparazzi was following him at the time of the crash, but that is a very regular occurrence, and (there is) no indication at this time it was a contributing factor of the crash.”
Who knows yet what really happened here, but either way it is a sad situation. My thoughts go out to all those involved.
