The Best and Worst Fashions of the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards
Who out there watched the MTV Video Music Awards show? Come on, I can’t be the only one. If you tuned in, you were treated to a whole slew of crazy outfits. Of course some were hits, but there were a bunch of misses. What were some of the best fashion of the night and which wardrobe choices had me cringing at my television? Find out below:
THE BEST OF THE NIGHT
- When it comes to discussing fashion, this time is usually reserved for the ladies. However, I can’t help but gush over how good Sam Smith looked. Plain and simple, he is one classy dude. The “Stay With Me” singer showed up to the red carpet in a stunning three-piece suit. Guys, take note, this is how it’s done.
- Maybe it’s the “Pretty Little Liars” fan in me talking, but Lucy Hale can do no wrong. This lady looked beautiful last night, as she not only attended the award show, but also hosted the pre-show. Hale wore a two-piece flower-embellished frock with her hair in a well-polished ponytail.
THE WORST OF THE NIGHT
- I am not a fan of women wearing pants to award shows and even Gwen Stefani can’t change my mind on that. The “Hollaback Girl” singer turned “The Voice” coach, made her grand return to the VMAs stage this year in a basic black and pink pantsuit. I’m sorry but, if this is your first year back in the limelight in quite a bit of time, shouldn’t you want to look your best? Maybe next year, Stefani.
- Alright, so I may not be Taylor Swift’s biggest fan but at least I can admit that she is a stunner on the red carpet. That was until Sunday night. The “Shake It Off” superstar showed up to music’s big night in a Mary Katrantzouz romper that covered her arms and that’s about it. Maybe it’s because we’re not used to it from Swift, but this outfit gets a no from me.
